VMAs 09

What happens when you get a British Comedian, amazing performances and Kanye acting a fool? Give up, it's the MTV Video Music Awards. Last night, my spirit was obligated to the television set. There was no way in hell I was gonna pass this show up. Also, because I am an award show junkie. I picture myself either being nominated or just being in the audience taking in the action live. Back to the subject, MTV has done it again. They usually serve the best award shows that could be delighted by everybody. So please focus your eyes and opinions as I break down the highlights of this madness of an award show.

The show started with Madonna giving an inspirational speech on MJ. She had some good points in the speech by the way. Afterwards, a tribute to MJ begun with the dancers from America's Next Best Dance Crew. Following their performance was Janet performing one of my favorite songs SCREAM. She blew everybody away including myself. To sum it up, BET should take notes on what a tribute is really suppose to be. MTV's tribute is too hard to put on a scale. They did an AWESOME job.

So now Russell Brand comes out and does his thing. He acknowledges the things he said at the previous year's award show like the Jonas Brothers purity rings and how they forgave him and Obama now being President in which he wanted us as Americans to vote for him. I think he is the best host thus far for any award show if you ask me. Now the first award is given to Taylor Swift. Low and behold out of nowhere, Kanye gets on stage and claims Beyonce should have won the award. Although many of us were thinking it, that was HIGHLY uncalled for. I really felt bad for Taylor Swift. From what I hear, she was crying before her performance. My friends and Mama made me realize that Beyonce is going to win an array of awards in her career, so it was time for someone else to win as well. Ironically, Beyonce won VIDEO OF THE YEAR. She did not have a speech, rather she told Taylor Swift to come out and finish hers. Which also gave her a standing ovation for her respectfulness. Kanye is still my favorite rapper, but his actions were unnecessary for real.

The performances were off the hook as well. Even though I am not an avid rock fan, those types of performances were great for what they were. Beyonce shut it down along with her husband Jay-Z and Alicia Keys. But, when Lil Mama hopped on stage, it was one of those moments where you're like "What the hell?" . Lady Gaga performance was okay, maybe because I can not stand her and think she is fully eccentric. But the things she was wearing last night really proved my point. Also, Wale and the other artists who performed during the breaks were good as well.

To conclude my review, the show was beyond my expectations. I felt proud to watch it. Congratulations to all the winners. I know all of them worked hard. I am really pumped to see what they have in store for next year's show. Hopefully Russell Brand comes back. Overall, I give the show five stars out of five.

Captain EO

It seems as though Disney has came to their senses. Michael Jackson's Captain EO will return to Disneyland. For those who don't know, it was a 3D attraction held a the Disney Theme Parks. But coming this January, MJ will take another journey at Disneyland. As a fan of both Disney & MJ, I can't wait.

Here's a piece of what to expect. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUxk2adMtWs

This commercial was amazingly directed.
